The Honeypot is open to all children within the village of the appropriate age, irrespective of background, race, religion or physical disability.
Places are available to children from the age of two years.
A waiting list is kept for those children wishing to start. Wherever practical, we endeavour to support children with special needs. Please contact us if you wish to see a session in progress or put your child's name on the list.
The natural way for children to learn about themselves, others and the world around them is through play, whether it be boisterous active games in the garden, more creative and reflective activities, or having fun on the pre-school computer. We provide a broad range of challenging and stimulating activities, with a view to promoting the children.s overall development, confidence and independence.
The government provides guidelines for the care and education of pre-school children, on which our own curriculum planning is based. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is based around four themes:
- A Unique Child - Every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
- Positive relationships - Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person.
- Enabling Environments - The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children's development and learning.
- Learning and Development - Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates and all areas of Learning and Development are equally important and inter-connected.
