Honeypot Pre-School

Introduction

We wish you a warm welcome to the Honeypot. Our aim is to provide a happy, stimulating, caring and safe environment within which your child can play and learn.

The Honeypot gives us the best of both worlds. We have our own building and garden, a central location at Willingham Promary School, and experienced staff.

The Honeypot is affiliiated to the Pre-school Learning Alliance and we have adopted their constitution.

We are registered with the Charity Commission. Mrs Hope Brookes, Mr Peter Cornish and Mrs Polly Fawcitt are our trustees.

We passed our first OFSTED inspection in February 1998. More recently in December 2007 we were graded as GOOD by OFSTED. Our OFSTED inspection reports can be viewed here.

The Honeypot has an Equal Opportunities and Special Needs Policy. A Copy of this is available upon request.

Aim

The main aim of the pre-school is to offer high standard, quality sessional care and education for pre-school children in an enjoyable fun environment.

We aim to stimulate the development of their imagination and creativity, provide an understanding of mathematics and science, encourage reading and writing, create good listening and concentration habits, develop muscular strength, co-ordination and manipulative skills, and thus ultimately enable them to seamlessly progress to full time school.

Who runs the pre-school?

The pre-school is run by the parents, in the form of an elected committee.

The play leaders and assistants are employees and they have the responsibility for the day to day running of the sessions. They have regular staff meetings to decide on the content and structure of the sessions. Creative activities reflect the theme chosen by the staff each term.

The committee are elected from parents with children at the pre-school at an AGM (October) and are responsible for helping the staff with the running of and fundraising for the pre-school. Their details are on the notice board.

The committee have regular meetings to discuss the staffing and day-to-day running of the pre-school, as well as the organisation of fundraising events.
