Our Pre-school staff are trained to provide inclusive play and learning opportunities in accordance with Ofsted requirements. The team is led by a qualified and experienced manager, Mrs Gina Balaam and we encourage all staff continually to develop their skills, knowledge and experience through training and other opportunities.
We follow a careful recruitment and selection procedure. All new staff must undergo a range of security checks including a 3-month probation period, criminal record disclosures and reference and qualification checks.
The Pre-school complies with the Early Years Foundation Stage for childcare provision. We are required to maintain an adult to child ratio of 1:4 for the younger children and 1:8 for the older children. We aim to improve on this ratio whenever possible, and the majority of sessions run at a ratio of between 1:5 and 1:6.
